Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Green Day Join FireAid Lineup

Los Angeles is still reeling from an unprecedented windstorm and dry conditions that lead to multiple devastating wildfires ravaging the area. Firefighters and first responders continue to try and contain the fires and while the situation is improving, the danger is not over. Additionally, the cleanup, repair, and rebuilding efforts will be extensive. In times of great tragedy, charity tends to rise up to help bring hope to others. One of those bits of hope is coming together in the form of a concert called FireAid.

On January 30th, number of artists and bands will perform at a benefit concert. The show is actually taking place at two venues in Inglewood, the Kia Forum and Intuit Dome. Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Sting, Stevie Nicks, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jelly Roll, Gwen Stefani, and more are slated to perform.

It’s a star-studded line-up to be sure, but at the time of this writing it hasn’t been announced who will be performing at which venue. The official website says both events will be running in tandem, and your ticket, if you manage to purchase one, is only good for the specific venue you buy it for.

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, January 22nd at noon (Pacific). The website notes that there will not be a presale so that tickets will go on sale for everyone, all at once. Pricing information also has not been made available at this time. If you can’t make it to the concert, it will be broadcast on various platforms including certain AMC theaters, Apple TV, Max, IHeartRadio, Prime Video, Twitch, YouTube, and others. Or to put it another way, odds are you probably have access to something that this will be streaming on.

Charity concerts have led to some pretty amazing events over the decades. Live Aid, Live 8, Farm Aid, The Concert for Bangladesh, The SARS Benefit Concert; they’ve all produced some stellar sets with great performances. FireAid has the potential to raise millions to help victims and we hope that it does. It can be hard to wrap one’s head around a natural disaster and the scope of the structural, emotional, damage and cost of human life. These are the kind of events that create a “new normal” so to say, and with hope and heart, maybe this can help making that new normal easier to obtain.
