Sony Animation and Netflix know who to call, Ghostbusters! The companies are teaming up on a new animated film based on the legendary franchise. The project is in the early development stages, but word has it Kris Pearn (“Hotel Transylvania”) will direct.
Plot details are currently under wraps, but this will be the second project based on the IP Sony and Netflix are tackling. (The first is a separate upcoming animated series, done in partnership with Ghost Corps.) This film will be a part of the expanding “Ghostbusters” universe, which already includes five live-action movies, two existing animated series, video games, and comic books.
Well keep you posted on updates about the upcoming “Ghostbusters” animated film and series as they develop. The first tree live-action films are currently available to stream through STARZ with the latest entry, “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” available through Netflix.
