National Video Game Day was celebrated just yesterday on July 8th. For us gamers out there, it was just another day to celebrate the graphical marvels that immerse us and bring us entertainment and joy. But we weren’t the only ones celebrating. Actor and entrepreneur Danny Trejo took part in celebrating by posting a picture on his Twitter, posing with his favorite video game. So what is it? Street Fighter 6? GTA? Surely someone who’s played some of the meanest characters in TV and movies has to love gritty games, right?

    Nah. It’s Animal Crossing.

What's your favorite video game of all time? Mine… @AnimalCrossing: New Horizons! #NationalVideoGameDay pic.twitter.com/SvNhoAO0UM

Is that not the most wholesome thing on the planet? Trejo’s favorite game of all time is Animal Crossing: New Horizons for the Nintendo Switch. Simply thinking of Trejo sitting in his Mission Hills home wandering the beach of his island for shells, fishing, and catching bugs for his animal islanders is almost too much for us to handle.

For those not in the know, Animal Crossing is a game that gained sweeping popularity when it debuted on the Nintendo 64 in 2001. A social simulator with massive amounts of customization and animal friends to foster relationships with. The game has gone through a number of iterations over the years, including a mobile game. New Horizons was the first to introduce some quality of life changes that players had always clamored for, making it one of the most popular of the franchise so far.

Don’t forget, Trejo also showed up on Gary Whitta‘s “Animal Crossing” talkshow. Twice!
