As a comics fan, you might want to make some posters, photo montages or videos with your favorite characters to share them with your friends. In this blogpost, we are going to tell you how to make a video collage including pictures and video clips and eventually spiced up with music, animation effects, text captions or other elements you’d like to add. You’ll discover 3 easy yet efficient tools for different devices – mobile apps for iPhone and Android and a user-friendly video collage creator for PCs. Let’s dive in!

How to make a video collage on your Android device

If you prefer to make and share videos on your Android smartphone or tablet, this is an option for you – Video Collage by Outdoing Apps. This app is free and very easy to use, ideal for combining up to 5 videos on one screen and playing them all at once, accompanied or not with a soundtrack. If that’s what you are looking for, here are the steps to follow:

    1. Download Video Collage from Google Play, install the app, open it and tap Get Started.
    2. Choose one of 45 brick frames available.
    3. Tap on the grid cells and fill them up with your videos or photos.
    4. To customize your video collage, you can add a border and set its width and color.
    5. Tap Done and choose the length of your video : full or default which is only 15 seconds. Wait for your video collage to be prepared.
    6. All the videos will be muted, but if you wish, you can add some audio track from your device and trim it or loop it to make it match the video.
    7. Tap on the Done button again, preview your creation and tap on the arrow in the top right corner. You can share your new video right away or save it in the folder Movies of the app.

How to create a video collage on an iPhone

If you are an iPhone user, we suggest you should try the Video Collage App by LightByte Co., Ltd. It offers more features and settings than the app we’ve just mentioned, but you have to pay for them on a subscription basis. Luckily, there is a 7-days free trial period. So, don’t hesitate to download the Video Collage App from the AppStore and give it a try. That’s how to create a video collage with it:

    1. Select a layout for your collage among more than 100 grid templates and tap Next.
    2. Tap on the + signs within the layout and import your media. Before uploading a video, you can trim it. After that, you can zoom in each video with your fingers to do a close up.
    3. Adjust the size of every video in your collage to make a beautiful preview. Turn down the volume of all the videos or of some of them, if you wish to. You can add some music instead, choosing from the app collection or the iTunes library.
    4. The most interesting feature of the app is probably the Order feature. It lets you number your videos which will be played one by one. It is very convenient, especially if you keep their original sound.
    5. Once everything is ready, click Export and choose the resolution – up to 4K – for your video. Unfortunately, you can’t choose the format: the app allows you to make only square videos.

How to make video collages on a PC

Want more export options and more elaborate tools and features for creating animated photo and video collages on your PC? Try the SmartSHOW 3D video collage maker. 3. If you want to add some video clips to your collage, switch to the Slide Editor. There, you can add any number of layers of any type: images, video, text, masks, animated GIFs, clipart and more. Moreover, you can use a video clip as a background.
    4. Arrange the elements as you like and set the animation for any of them using animation keyframes for movement, rotation, fade-in and fade-out and other spectacular effects.
    5. You can add some sounds from the audio collection or choose a music track from the software’s library or from your PC.
    6. When everything is ready, create a video by hitting the corresponding button, choose a suitable format from more than 30 options available for PC, mobile, social media and even TV and export your video collage.
