The producers behind Netflix’s hit film “Nowhere” Miguel Ruz and Jordi Roca have already smashed all kinds of records for the streamer. They are turning their talents to supernatural horror with a new project- “Tooth Fairy.”

“Tooth Fairy,” will center around a string of children disappearing in a tight-knit rural community in Spain. As a social worker investigating the disappearances begins to dig into the village’s myths and legends. She soon discovers she has unwittingly reawakened a terrifying, vengeful spirit.

This will be the feature-length directorial debut of Spanish filmmaker Tony Morales. Who also wrote the script based on his short “Hada.”

“We can’t wait to introduce Tony to the wider world – he’s a star in the making and he lives and breathes horror movies,” said Roca. “Tooth Fairy, expanding his terrifying short film, is the perfect vehicle to showcase his talents. We’re delighted to be partnering with Reagent and Architect to bring Tony’s nightmare to life!”

Producers for “Tooth Fairy,” include Ruz, Roca, and Brazilian outfit Reagent Media.  Reagent’s Marcos Tellechea and Guilherme Martin Somlo will executive produce.

Producers Ruz and Roca are coming off their debut feature, “Nowhere, about a woman trapped in a cargo container out at sea. The film garnered 85 million views and 155 million hours viewed, making it Netflix’s most-watched Spanish-language film to date. It is also the second most-watched non-English language film ever and ranked number one in 45 countries when it debuted.

“We knew Miguel and Jordi’s prowess for discovering talent, and for developing genre projects with real breakout potential,” said Tellechea. “Nowhere has put them firmly on the map, and we’re excited to be part of their next chapter with Tooth Fairy.”

We’ll keep you posted on updates about “Tooth Fairy” as they become available. The production plans to begin filming sometime this summer and currently, there are no confirmed cast announcements. You can check out Morales’ short “Hada” below:
