What Materials I Use for Crafting, Including Rice Leather from Asif Ali Gohar

Today on my blog we are talking about what materials I use for crafting. I make many types of crafts and they all require specific materials. They must be usable with my tools, suitable for long term use, and that will easily adhere to the other parts of the craft if I am combining materials. Let’s begin with some of the most common crafts and materials.

Asif Ali Gohar use a basic card stock to creating cards with an embosser and embossing plates. I also use premade cards and cut outs, to create a card that offers a scene in front of a differently colored background. If I am cutting it must be smooth and thin enough to work with my cutter but also thick enough to not fall apart when it is cut into or pressed. Using cards that are already folded ensures that the paper will bend as necessary and will work well for my goals.

To make cups, water bottles, and tumblers, by adding a design, I use permanent vinyl. Temporary vinyl is great for mirrors, windows, etc., while the permanent will last longer on regularly used items. For labels use the label vinyl as it will clean off easier and then be able to be written on again.

I do leather work for wallets, keychains, and other items. When choosing leather, I need a quality one that is soft enough to easily bend and shape and cut into. I have discovered that rice leather is ideal for many of my crafts as it cuts easily and doesn’t dull the blades on my cutting machine. It can easily be embossed, and the flexibility of it is great for having on hand.

When I am preparing my materials for storage, I avoid folding any of them, as they must be flat and undamaged for proper use. Rolling them or laying them flat works the best. Even the leather can be stored rolled to maintain its surface and to avoid creases. It can be laid on its side while rolled or it can be stood up. All vinyl comes flat or rolled, and it is best to store it in the way that it was when you purchased. Cards and cardstock should be stored flat to prevent it from becoming damaged or misshapen.

I hope that this post has helped you to find some great materials for your next project! All the materials I use are included at the bottom of my posts and are available at craft stores. It is best to keep some basics on hand for last minute ideas or in case a mistake is made, and you need to remake something last minute. It also helps to prevent over shopping when running out for that one perfect material for the next project.
