We Did “Squid Game: The Trials” with “The Challenge” Cast

Sad that the tribulations of “Squid Game: The Challenge” have ended (for now)? Good news for those willing to travel, or who are in Los Angeles. “Squid Game: The Trials” is here to test your mettle. The competition show certainly had its own set of hurdles to overcome in adapting the drama from a murder fest to a social experiment. (We highly recommend watching the making of on Netflix for an in depth look at the detailed efforts!)

Translating that translation of an experience to a smaller more accessible scale was also no easy feat.

Earlier this month, we got to experience “The Trials” with some of the cast members of the reality show. Just as they were kept on their toes for the adaptation of their Netflix show, they were once again thrown a curveball with this latest iteration. Their skills from the show only helped them so much.

While the Trials and Challenge both include some classic “Squid Game” staples like marbles and Red Light, Green Light, it was the newer games that ended up being the most fun. Warships, a creative semi-lifesize take on a trademarked well known game, was chaotic and yet teambuilding. Even though it was a competition and only a short taste of the larger experiences it was shocking how quickly camaraderie formed. It probably didn’t hurt that “The Trials” has a mini Korean night market, complete with bar and custom menu, that groups explored before.

Finalists from the show were in good spirits at the event, which took place prior to the finale. We won’t spoil whom but the winner was definitely in attendance. If after testing your tenacity at “Squid Game: The Trials” you feel you have what it takes to enter season two of “Squid Game: The Challenge,” recruitment is open now!

“Squid Game: The Trials” is open for a limited-time run in Los Angeles. Tickets start at $39, and can be booked at here.
