The Coen Brothers‘ single-handedly made the White Russian adult beverage mainstream with their iconic 1998 film, “The Big Lebowski.” Bathrobes, bowling, rugs really tying the room together- these things and more became cultural touchstones for fans of the film. If you’ve ever wanted to own a piece of the flick, your chance is coming next month.

To celebrate the 25 anniversary, a special auction event featuring over 250 items from storyboards, costumes, and more, all celebrating “The Big Lebowski” is coming to Julien’s Auctions in Hollywood, CA. A portion of the proceeds from each lot will go to Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign.

Check out this preview of the lots from star Jeff Bridges:

Jeff Bridges “Jeffrey” The Dude ensemble (estimate: $30,000-$50,000). A light brown knitted fleece bathrobe and an off-white cotton Jockey T-shirt worn by Jeff Bridges in The Big Lebowski. This ensemble appears in the opening scene of the film, when The Dude walks through a Ralph’s grocery store and drinks from a carton of milk when the Stranger (Sam Elliott) introduces the now iconic character to the audience. In the following scene, when the Dude approaches and enters his home, he is wearing this ensemble when he’s attacked by Jackie Treehorn’s (Ben Gazzara) enforcers as well as other scenes when the Dude pours himself a Caucasian. The Dude also wears this type of T-shirt at various points throughout the film, including at Hollywood Star Lanes bowling alley. Includes a DVD of the film.

Yes, the sunglasses are also up for auction.

Official storyboards by J. Todd Anderson from the film, with an estimate of $500-$700 each.

Julien’s Auctions and TCM Present: Hollywood LEGENDS will run December 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th, 2023. If you’re just interested in “The Big Lebowski,” that’ll be Saturday the 16th. You can check out the full catalog via the website here.
