a completed series we were REALLY excited for, that Disney+ passed on, WILL see the light of day! “Nautilus,” which will be a prequel of sorts for “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” all about one Captain Nemo, has been saved by AMC.

“Nautilus is a big, sweeping drama that is sure to appeal to fans of our Anne Rice Immortal Universe and other buzzy and fan-forward series like Orphan Black: Echoes,” Ben Davis, EVP of original programming for AMC Networks and AMC Studios said in a statement. “We are looking forward to bringing it to AMC+ and AMC as a special television event next year.”

Starring Shazad Latif (“Star Trek: Discovery“) as the Indian Prince Captain Nemo. The series also stars Georgia Flood and Thierry Frémont, with Pacharo Mzembe, Arlo Green, Tyrone Ngatai, Ling Cooper Tang, Andrew Shaw, Ashan Kumar, Céline Menville, and Kayden Price.

All 10 episodes will reportedly hit AMC and AMC+ sometime in 2024. We’ll let you know what else we hear about this and other news.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
