“Night Court” Bailiff, “BTAS” Two-Face Richard Moll Passes Away

It is with a heavy heart that we report on the passing of the wonderfully talented actor, Richard Moll. For many, Moll was primarily known for his role on the original “Night Court” as the lovable, dim witted, yet surprisingly intelligent court bailiff, Bull. Kids who grew up in the ’90s might know him from a number of voice roles.

Moll was the voice of the Scorpion in Fox Kids’ “Spider-Man,” and Two-Face in “Batman: The Animated Series.” Playing both Harvey Dent and his villainous alter ego, Moll effectively played two characters in one, each with a dynamic personality and VERY different voices. He also deserves credit for playing the character of Norman in the criminally under-appreciated “Mighty Max” series alongside other voice acting legends, Rob Paulsen and Tony Jay.

Moll had a long career in films too. Even though he played a lot of smaller roles he was nominated for a Saturn award for Best Supporting Actor in the 1985 comedy-horror classic, “House.” With his distinctive height of 6’8” it’s not hard to miss him in any of the films he’s in. On a personal note, having grown up watching game shows of the ’80s and early ’90s, I recall seeing him a number of times on “Super Password” and the various incarnations of “The 25,000 Pyramid.”

The actor reportedly passed away at home. He was a tremendous comedic talent in front of the camera and an extremely talented voice actor behind the mic. He’s one of several actors from “Night Court“ who have passed on in recent years, including Harry Anderson, Charlie Robinson, and Markie Post. Our hearts go out to his family and friends, as well as to all those who were touched by his work.

    Moll was 80 years old.
