House From John Carpenter’s “Halloween” Sells For $1.68 Million

The iconic house from John Carpenter‘s “Halloween” has sold to a new owner. How perfect that it’s in October, and right before Halloween arrives no less! The quaint little South Pasadena two-story went on the market last month for $1.8 million. It finally sold, just shy of it’s asking price of $1.68 million. Which is still nothing to sneeze at. The home best known for the terror of Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is going through some renovations, too.

The home itself will be split up into a multiple housing unit, with potential conversion of the garage into an ADU. Allowing up to four living spaces within. So if Michael Meyers ever returns to the home, he might need to double-check the proper address. The first unit is becoming a large 1-Bedroom suite and comes with the front porch area. The second, a 3 bedroom, 1 bath space. And the third will be a cozy 1 bedroom, 1 bath space for those of you that enjoy your privacy. Presumably that means the kitchen and laundry will be communal.

The home itself has been in the real owners family for two generations. Their home was helped into its sale by Heidi Babcock and Andrea Marcum-Valentine of eXp Realty. The home has been a popular tourist location for horror fans, and the owners often encouraged and welcomed fans looking for a photo. Apparently even keeping foam pumpkins on the porch to pose with. Hopefully the same courtesies and politeness will be observed in the hands of the new owner and their tenants.

They should all christen the house by dressing collectively as Michael Meyers for Halloween. Or, maybe go the way of The Goonies’ house with a museum.
