Amazing AI Tech Innovations In the Automobile Industry

Some years ago, it was hard to imagine autonomous cars out of the sci-fi world, but now they are all over the place.

From enhancing the user’s experience to ensuring safety, AI has crossed all the boundaries to offer the unthinkable. For instance, its productive approach can save money by reducing unexpected breakdowns.

Continue to read if you are unaware of the wonders AI tech innovations have brought to the automobile industry.

    1. Autonomous Driving

The advent of AI in the automobile industry is geared to ensure fewer accidents and provide service to those who suffer from mobility issues.

Self-driving cars use AI algorithms to interpret what’s in front of them and drive accordingly. They provide a safe experience by keeping track of traffic and road conditions.

Some companies like Tesla, Uber and Waymo, already have their autonomous cars on the road and are continuously making changes to make them better and safer for the users.

    1. Personalized Experience

Of course, interior LED lights and faux leather seat covers can add a touch of glamor and luxury to the car’s interiors, but with the emergence of AI we can expect a whole new level of “personalization”.

AI-powered automobiles have features for analyzing data and adapting according to the preferences and habits of the driver and passengers.

This means it can remember the settings you made to the sound system, the temperature you like, the seat position you are comfortable in and the entertainment options you enjoy.

    1. Driver Assistance

The AI technology used in automobiles enhances driver safety with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Some amazing features of this system are parallel parking, pedestrian detection and recognition of blind spots.

Moreover, these systems can detect potential hazards or sense if the driver is drowsy and alert them. It also makes driving safer for others on the road because of features like lane-keeping assistance and automatic emergency braking.

    1. AI in Manufacturing

Manufacturing and designing AI-enabled vehicles is a complex task that requires a lot of precision, which means there’s no space for any mistakes. The use of AI can help in developing an efficient and advanced vehicle.

AI can optimize all the design aspects in depth, analyze vast amounts of data and create designs that are visually appealing and functional. With minimal human intervention, there is a high chance of finishing the manufacturing process at a fast pace.

    1. AI in Supply Chain Optimization

Manufacturing a vehicle means thousands of different parts coming from various directions. Keeping track of parts that have or haven’t arrived, are running low or need to be exchanged can be difficult for automotive managers.

To ease their situation, AI comes into play. It can crunch data related to demand patterns, supplier and production capacities, production schedules and distribution routes and provide actionable insights for the managers.

This fully automated system of manufacturing and managing the supply can ensure a cost-effective supply chain, minimize delays and enhance productivity.

    1. Predictive Maintenance

AI’s “maintenance predictive feature” is more than just the blinking of the engine signal on the dashboard. AI uses the IoT system, which can predict the need for maintenance accurately for most automobile parts, making it essential for BMW servicing to stay ahead of potential issues.

Software-defined vehicles leverage automotive data collection to run quick analysis and tell the user if something is wrong with the engine, mileage or emissions. It can also track when the car would need service based on the previous maintenance records.

    Conclusion

With constant improvement and discovery, the future of automobiles is continuously changing. Some BMW cars are now using AI-powered voice assistants, while Audi is making its car better every day at recognizing faults on the road.

Besides self-driven cars, AI has found application in many other functionalities for assisting drivers. We can certainly expect that the integration of AI technologies will continue to push the boundaries of innovation.
