“Devil May Cry” Anime Gets First Look from Netflix

Two big announcements have come from Netflix recently. The animation dam has burst with the new “Castlevania: Nocturne” leading the charge. Now Netflix is producing an animated series for both “Tomb Raider” and “Devil May Cry.” The latter of which makes us quite excited. Given the quality of the 12-episode OVA, it’s high time “DMC” got something decent.

This “Devil May Cry” is coming to us courtesy of Korean animation studio Mir and “Castlevania” EP Adi Shankar. There’s little in the way of information. Only the teaser, which is 30 seconds long and gives us a first look at Dante. We’ll be honest, we’re not entirely sure how to feel about his design. They seem to be amalgamating a few of his looks. His current jacket from “Devil May Cry 5”, but giving him the devil-may-care attitude from the third game. Starting him off being a younger man. And we’re not sold on the hair, but it might grow on us. Gotta give credit to those lashes, though.

We’ll be sure to keep you abridged of any new developments regarding the series. And what it might cover for everyone’s favorite whacky woohoo pizza man. For everyone who loves Dante’s recklessness, we know that everyone’s going to be clamoring for a glimpse of edgy twin brother and antagonist Vergil. If this series starts from Dante’s beginnings, then this may give us the tower of Temen-ni-gru. Which Vergil raises to try and inherit their devil father’s ultimate power. Which would also introduce fan favorite Lady and killer demon clown Arkham. We’ll keep you posted!
