“Shameless” and “Gotham” star Cameron Monaghan is reportedly headed to the Grid. He’s joining the cast for Disney’s upcoming 3rd “Tron” film, “Tron: Ares.”
Evan Peters recently joined the film, alongside Jared Leto, who will reportedly play Ares, a manifestation of ‘The Program.’ Greta Lee (“Past Lives“) and Jodie Turner-Smith (“Queen and Slim”) have also been confirmed.
Monaghan most recently led two high profile “Star Wars” video games, “Jedi Fallen Order” and “Jedi: Survivor” as Cal Kestis, the main character.
Joachim Rønning (“Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Maleficent“) is directing, from a script by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne. The original hope was to have cameras start rolling in August. But, with the ongoing WGA strike and the deadline for SAG-AFTRA’s contract negotiations up at midnight tonight, that isn’t looking likely.
