How To Share iCloud Photo Library With Family?

It’s a good idea to learn how to share photos via iCloud if you want everyone in your family to access your pics. It will help you save time that would be spent on random things like manually sending images to family members. You can easily create the shared library and then send a link to everyone.

How to set up your iCloud photos

If you want to set up a shared photo library, you do need to have either iOS 16.1 or Mac OS Ventura. On the phone you go to iCloud, Photos and then choose the option to Sync this phone. It won’t automatically create a shared library, but you do want to ensure that your images are transferred to the library automatically.

    Creating the shared photo library

Now you want to go to the Settings/Photos and here you need to choose the Shared Library. Press Get Started, and here you can add participants from your family members. The phone number will be ideal, but the email address or name will do just fine. You are free to add as many members as you want, so try to ensure you add everyone and avoid any rush.

Once you do that, it’s possible to manually select all images. You can share all videos and photos, choose by date or people, or just manually go through the entire process. It’s even possible to select an option where you include moments shared with certain people or you can choose the date you want as a starting point.

    Previewing the shared library

Once you made the shared library, you can go ahead and preview it before sharing. You just need to tap the Preview Shared Library button after you choose to create the library. Here you can move photos and delete some as necessary. You can do that by choosing to move to the personal library, if such an issue might entail.

    Managing your shared library

The shared library will exist in your Photos app and you can access it at any given time. Here you can choose members and even remove some of them. You can also change things like sharing from camera or shared library suggestions. If you want, you can also add a deletion notification. That way, if anyone deletes images from the shared library, it will notify you.

If you want to share the iCloud library with your family, then adding family members to the list is an incredibly good idea. Not only will it help you improve and enhance your shared library, but you can also share images without an issue. And if you create the shared library, you can easily have control over who accesses all these images. When you share lots of images with family, a tool like this can be very handy! Once you start using the shared iCloud photo library, you can still manage who accesses those images and when!
