Disney released a new trailer and seven character posters for their upcoming live-action “The Little Mermaid.” The posters include main cast of human/merpeople including Halle Baile as Ariel, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric. As well as the cast of CGI animals like Flounder (voiced by Jacob Tremblay), Sebastian (voiced by Daveed Diggs), and Scuttle (voiced by Awkwafina).

ALSO, Disney released a new clip, featuring Baile singing Ariel’s iconic song, “Part Of Your World.”

While they aren’t shown in this poster drop the film also stars Art Malik as Sir Grimsby and Noma Dumezweni as Queen Selina. This live-action adaptation will be directed by Rob Marshall with a screenplay by two-time Oscar nominee David Magee.  This will be an update on Disney’s 1989 animated version. Which is based on 1837 the fairy tale written by the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen.

While the posters for the live-action characters were fairly well-received. Their animated counterparts, not so much. The more photo-realistic approach is making some people want to eat the cuddly creatures. While others are just creeped out by the whole thing. But what’s a good remake without some uncanny valley?

“The Little Mermaid” hits theaters on May 26th.
