Upcoming Auction Includes Iconic “Harry Potter” Wands

Auctioning off memorabilia from films and television is not an uncommon thing. Just the other month there was an auction of items from Academy Award winning film, “Everything, Everywhere All at Once.“ This upcoming event though will be of special note to many as it contains the largest known collection of wands from the “Harry Potter” film series. Among several other things.

Gary Oldman’s Sirius Black wand Julien’s Auctions

Among the wands in the collection is the Elder Wand from “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” Sirius Black’s (Gary Oldman) wand from “Prisoner of Azkaban,” Remus Lupin’s (David Thewlis) wand, and Harry’s (Daniel Radcliffe) wand from “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” Additional wands include Voldemort’s from “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” and Ron’s from the aforementioned “Order of the Phoenix.”

As noteworthy as those wands may be, Julien’s does not consider them to be the centerpiece of the auction. That distinction goes to John Travolta‘s “Saturday Night Fever” suit. The iconic, white three-piece is practically inseparable from Travolta and his character of Tony Manero. It occupies a special place in film history as one of the most memorable looks of the 1970s. While it may appear gaudy by today’s standards, it is very much a part of the fashion of the time. It occupies a place on the dance floor just as Travolta and his partner played by Karen Lynn Gorney do. It’s currently estimated at $200,000.

There are a lot more items beyond that as well. Also up for auction is a hoverboard from “Back to the Future Part II” (valued at $80,000), a couple of Iron Man helmets, one of Mia Farrow‘s costumes from “Rosemary’s Baby,” Rey’s staff from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” and even more suits from various films. Want to be decked out like Tommy Lee Jones or Will Smith from “Men in Black?” Yup, those are up for auction too. Just something to keep in mind if you really want to impress people at your next black tie event.

The auction is currently going online for various items and will conclude from April 22nd to April 23rd. If you’re interested and have a few thousand dollars laying around, check out the official Julian’s Auctions catalog.
