Clint Eastwood’s Final Directorial Outing “Juror #2” is Coming

Film legend Clint Eastwood is starting to close the deal on directing his new film, “Juror #2.” A film that is being internally billed at Warner Bros. Pictures as his last. Eastwood appeared in his first film, the low-budget “Revenge of the Creature” in 1955. But he has been sitting in the director’s chair since 1971’s classic thriller, “Play Misty For Me.” Since then he has directed 35 movies overall, which he often also stars in.

The new film is a thriller, with the working title “Juror #2.” The story will follow a juror sitting on a murder trial. During the proceedings, he realizes that he actually caused the victim’s death. But the juror must grapple with the choice to manipulate the rest of the jury and get away with it, or turn himself in.

While we know Eastwood is looking to direct “Juror #2,” if it will be his final film is still speculative. Sources are claiming he would like to retire fully after this movie. While it is being internally billed as his last movie, there is still a chance he decides to take on something else. But after 68 years in the business and four Oscar wins, there may just be no mountains left for him to concur.

With “Juror #2”  being so early in development, there is no start date for filming start, let alone release. While casting isn’t underway yet there are claims Eastwood is eyeing “a young Hollywood star” for the lead. This star will also be the lead in a big film releasing within the next few months. But descriptions that vague should always be taken with a grain of salt.

“Juror #2” will be the 40th feature film that Eastwood has directed. His possible final film is going to be through Warner Bros. who he has been developing projects with for over 50 years. In 2008, after the success of “Gran Torino,” Eastwood has stuck exclusively to the studio. He developed 10 more films for them including the Oscar-nominated “Invictus,” “American Sniper,” “Sully,” and “Richard Jewell.”

Eastwood’s latest film, 2021′“Cry Macho,” was one of the last few titles to be released day-and-date on HBO Max and in theaters. We will keep you posted on updates about “Juror #2” as they become available.
