“Jurassic Park” star Jeff Goldblum will be playing with The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra at the Balboa Theatre on July 20th. This puts the concert smackdab in the middle of San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC)!

This jazz act has been an L.A. staple since at least 2014, when they did a weekly show at the Carlyle Hotel. Goldblum and The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra were signed to Decca Records in 2018. Later that same year, they released their first album, “The Capitol Studios Sessions.” In 2019, they released “I Shouldn’t Be Telling You This,” featuring artists like Fiona Apple, Sharon Van Etten, and Anna Calvi.

The group consists of Goldblum on piano, John Storie on guitar, Alex Frank on bass, Joe Bagg on organ, Kenny Elliott on drums, with James King and Scott Gilman on saxophones. During their performances, Goldblum will normally take questions and ask trivia questions in between sets.

For those attending SDCC, the Balboa Theatre is roughly a seven-minute drive or a twenty-five-minute walk from the event. The concert will be held on Thursday, July 20th at 8 pm. Tickets will go on sale Friday, March 24th at 10 am (PT). Prices start at $49.50, but isn’t Goldblum priceless?

You can find more information on the Balboa Theatre’s website. The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra’s third album will be released on March 24th, 2023.
