PlayStation Plus Premium Gives Trophy Support to PS1 Titles

Playstation Plus’ current roster for February will come with some pleasing updates for gamers. For premium subscribers- which gives access to a virtual console of PS1 through PS3 titles- the games available this month have a little something more. Some PS1 titles are coming with trophy support available.

    PlayStation Plus

Some of the PS Plus Premium games becoming available this month are “Legend of Dragoon” and “Wild Arms 2.” Both have been updated to support earning trophies for feats you accomplish in game. Unfortunately, “Harvest Moon: Back to Nature,” which is another of the available titles, doesn’t support it. The reason most likely being that it isn’t specifically a Playstation game. Implementing the support probably isn’t as easy for something outside of Sony’s programming.

This information comes courtesy of Exophase. A program that scrapes PSN for trophy data. While the games aren’t live yet, the trophy information has been found in PSN’s data. It’s not a new occurrence, as several other virtual console titles have come with added trophy support. So while you can enjoy the nostalgia of some of your favorite Playstation 1 titles, you can earn some nice achievements to add to your digital trophy collection.

So put on your completionist caps and get trophy-hunting! Conversely, if you just want to raise cattle and farm crops, reliving the charming nature of “Harvest Moon” is a treat regardless of a lack of achievements. It’s certainly entices some of us to consider a higher-level subscription for PSN, that’s for sure. The addition of trophy support is nice, but a lot of us just miss those old titles we grew up with.
