Johnny Knoxville Sued for Emotional Distress After Prank

After pulling an elaborate prank on a TaskRabbit electrician, Johnny Knoxville is being sued for causing the worker emotional distress, According to legal docs, the “Jackass“ star is being sued by Khalil Khan, who was hired to do a routine repair job on an electric dimmer switch through TaskRabbit. When Khan arrived at the home, he was greeted by another actor, purportedly the owner. Khan claims within moments of starting the work, a lamp went out and a girl about the age of 10 — who was also apparently an actor — accused him of killing her pony because it was on life support and died when the electricity went out.

Johnny Knoxville, Sean “Poopies” McInerny, Rachel Wolfson and Steve-O in jackass forever from Paramount Pictures and MTV Entertainment Studios.

If this was the end of the prank, it would be a little weird but hardly worth suing over. Khan says he was led into a room where there appeared to be a pony- reports differ as to if it was dead or alive. As if that weren’t enough, his car got towed. Khan claims when he started to call the cops to dispute the towing and report the dead animal in a person’s house, one of the men who’d taken his car said he’d get in trouble for having cocaine in it, producing a bag of white powder they claimed to have found in the car.

While Knoxville did eventually let Khan in on the prank, Khan didn’t find any of it funny. His claim says the situation caused him emotional distress, worry, anxiety, and harm to his business reputation. We can’t help but feel this particular “prank” was over the line. It’s hard enough making a living. The last thing someone needs is the threat of police violence and a bogus drug charge.

We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news. Especially the condition of fellow “Jackass” alum Bam Margera, after being placed on a ventilator.
