Bullicio Puppets is a death metal act out of Chile that gives kids a high-energy environment to rock out to some heavier jams. The band is fronted by Jack Distortion, a felt metalhead that sports a battle jacket, red dreadlocks, and a plastic guitar. He was created by Fabian R Salazar Albornoz, who wears a fully black outfit during shows to make his presence a little less distracting while he sings.

Unlike other music projects aimed at children, Bullicio Puppets’ renditions of metal standards are not censored for little ears. In a recent TikTok, we see a performance of Metallica’s “Hardwired” and lyrics such as “we’re so fucked” and “shit outta luck” can clearly be heard, but neither parents or children seem phased. In fact, most of the kids and dancing and head-banging right along with the NSFW track. One kid gets so into it that he uses a rope as a makeshift air guitar.

But what good metal show in complete without a mosh pit? Kids even form pits at Bullicio Puppets shows. One video shows several kids running in a circle, on grass, bopping each other with balloons to Pantera’s Strength Beyond Strength. Parents are on the edges taking videos or just rocking out themselves.

Another video shows a much larger, but still kid-friendly, circle pit fittingly set to Anthrax’s “Caught In A Mosh.” Parents hold their kids’ hands as they gleefully run around in circles. The venue’s concrete floor are lined with gym mats and some extra mats as a safety precaution. You can see several kids fall but each comes back up unscathed and smiling. Each fallen child is also offered several helping hands to get back up. Since it is never too early to teach mosh pit etiquette.

Outside of the potentially objectionable lyrics Bullicio Puppets clearly strives to create a safe and family-friendly environment. Providing a nice alternative for kids that may want something heavier, or just to give parents a break from Raffi. You can check out more concert footage on Jack Distortion’s TikTok.
