No, All Strollers Won’t be Banned in Disney Parks

Disney parks have recently made some controversial decisions, but luckily banning strollers will not be among them. The whole thing started with a viral TikTok claiming on October 1st, Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida would ban all strollers in the park. (Even though double WIDE strollers have largely been removed from the parks.)

The TikTok video claims the stroller ban was due to congestion and theft creating too much of an issue. The video quickly shot up to approximately 2.6 million views and Disney fans had some very strong opinions about it.

Currently, many fans are already upset at Disney parks constantly climbing prices while cutting back on services. These skyrocketing costs are preventing a lot of families from returning to the parks. So it’s not really a surprise that this same group of people latched on to a satirical TikTok saying the Disney parks were making yet another nonfamily-friendly decision.

And like most good satire this one also had a small grain of truth to it. In 2019 Disneyland Resort banned oversized strollers wagons inside of the park in an effort to reduce congestion. So it was not a full-on ban on any and all strollers, just certain types. Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure also still offer stroller rentals to those that need them. In an attempt to mock that decision by overexaggerating it this TikTok creator ended up making a whole new rumor.

A rumor that got so big theme park content creator David Vaughn posted a tweet addressing the issue saying “No, sigh, Disneyland and Walt Disney World are not banning strollers starting October 1. Or any time after that.” A Disneyland spokesperson also confirmed to KTLA that these rumors were totally false.
