There is no end to wanting more. We have revolutionized from 2GB to 1TB phones in three decades. One cannot keep everything they want to watch on the phone; this is where howtostream.co.nz comes to the rescue.

Meanwhile, having twenty-thirty-something tabs open on the phone is the new normal. Along with overflowing internal memory, it interferes with the streaming experience.

And we all have been there where we spend hours streaming; there is no end until the stream chokes due to unexplainable reasons. Yes, various reasons could be contributing to the slow speed.

Read on to learn how to improve your streaming experience.

    1. Shut Down Unnecessary Devices

Our homes are becoming integrated with several devices that require the internet. Some devices are on standby and have no use by the end of the day when you are unwinding by watching some content. They are only competing for internet connectivity, hence reducing the speed you get on your phone or tablet.

These may include the oven, thermostat, printer, Amazon das button, Kuri mobile robot, mesh devices, etc.; you can evaluate, what devices are needed, and what are just eating up the bandwidth.

In this way, you will shut down some devices and get better bandwidth for streaming and browsing at night when there is no need for these IoT devices to be alert.

    2. Delete Cache and Cookies

Caches and cookies play an important role in helping us pick up where we left off last time. On a daily basis, we open so many applications, each accumulating many caches and cookies.

Over time, these trifle caches add up to become GB. Adding caches and cookies gradually slows down the device’s performance as it takes up the device’s internal memory. On the other hand, internal memory is the primary source of the processor.

If the caches are cookies that take up a lot of space, it doesn’t give the processor the room to make operations faster. Hence it results in a gradual slowing down of the devices.

Also: Here is a complete guide to migrating the data to Cloud. Moving the frequently used data to the cloud makes it stress-free, accessible, and reduces risk.

Recently, all devices come with health checks for devices. These features can be found in the setting section of the phone. The feature helps you identify the unused caches and cookies that you need to get rid of.

In that section, the feature identifies the apps that are rare and less seldom used and take up space and caches. Also, the most used apps like Google Maps, Facebook, Instagram, and Google Search always take up too many caches. It should be a routine practice to delete the piling-up caches and cookies for a smooth streaming experience.

    3. Switch to Lower Resolution

We are not big on compromise, but streaming services these days have great resolution on lower tiers of resolution too. If you have tried various other methods and streaming is still low, try reducing the resolution.

For instance, if you switch to Standard Quality Resolution (SD), you will notice the load time will gradually reduce or stop altogether. You will be watching the content without any glitches and delays.

Moreover, when you are watching content after the day to wind down, the reduction in video quality will not matter that much. HD and 4K can be used on weekends or for movies that require more colors, effects, and resolution due to cinematography.

    4. Local Storage For the Win

If you notice the streaming has hiccups, it’s time to use the download feature streaming service boost a lot about. You can fall back to local storage and download the content for a seamless session.

However, it will require some planning. You need to have a clear ideas of what you plan to watch and put it to download. During the day, the content can take its beauty time to download; meanwhile, you can go about your day.

Also, you can utilize the time to put the movies and TV series on download as you go to sleep. If the internet is slow at some point during the day, or even when you are out and about, you have content downloaded and ready to watch in a continuous session.

Disclaimer: Remember to keep deleting previous content, as it may cause the local storage to implode with too many downloads.

    5. Noise Cancellation Headsets

Great audio elevates the whole experience. This is why all streaming services offer better and refined audio quality in the premium price plans.

You can use a noise cancellation headset when watching movies and TV series. They are different from the regular headset you use and have amazing results.

These headsets reduce the background noise and surroundings. The sound quality is elevated and enhances the experience for the user.

    6. Change Wi-Fi Channel

In regular Wi-Fi, there are several channels. These channels have varied frequencies, such as 2.4GHz and 5 GHz. Most mundane routine appliances and devices are configured on 2.4 GHz, sufficient for these peripherals.

However, if you notice that streaming is becoming a struggle, you can change the Wi-Fi channel to better the streaming experience.

    7. VPN!

It is definitely the most underrated technique to improve the streaming experience. The tool creates a secure connection for the device with the internet.

You also have more options as you can bypass the geo-restrictions that bind you to stream content for the particular region. So if you are in New Zealand and want to watch a French regional channel or BBC iPlayer, you can log in to get access without any problems.

    8. When Nothing Seem to Work —Use Ethernet

The best method and would work without fail is an Ethernet connection. It is better than using Wi-Fi; hence you see the gamers use an Ethernet connection to play games online.

If you have tried all the tricks and methods, and still see those rings circling, ruining your streaming experience, resort to Ethernet and lay back and relax. Because things are going to smooth from here on.
