Everything You Should Know About CS:GO’s Matchmaking Update

Recently, Valve has announced the recalibration of the competitive skill groups and the arrival of unranked mode to one of the best-known tactical shooters in history. This is a great announcement for the community of this game since the news has been long overdue and asked for quite some time.

These changes will lead to improving the quality of matches around the planet since the new accounts will face opponents with a similar level of skill. To put it differently, the users can install Valve’s shooter for the first time, get ranked against players in the lowest tanks, and access such advanced techniques as one-way smokes or pop flashes without actually qualifying as smurfing.

In this regard, competitive skill groups are undergoing recalibration affecting all CS:GO players worldwide. More information for csgo rank checker can be found by the link. Also, today we are going to see how exactly players will be affected by the upcoming changes. But to begin with, let’s take a closer look at the ranks and matchmaking system in Valve’s game.

What are the Ranks in CS:GO?

CS:GO’s hierarchy system consists of 18 ranks, ranging from the least skilled position to the global elite, respectively. By climbing the ladder, you will start getting rewards, such as cosmetic skin drops, stickers, and medals for your time invested into getting better at the game.

To unlock the competitive ranking system, you need to reach the second level by playing any of Valve’s game modes, including Deathmatch, Casual, Arms Race, Demolition, and Danger Zone. Once you have had access to matchmaking, you will be put together with players from various ranks. And after winning ten competitive matches, your skill group will appear with your rank being shown by others.

All the News about CS:GO Ranking System

All previous adjustments made by the developers of CS:GO as to the matchmaking system have been small enough to discuss separately. But this time, a new matchmaking update affects all players worldwide and there is actually a reason to dive into it.

    New Matchmaking Update

As we have said earlier, the CS:GO’s competitive skills groups are undergoing some long-needed recalibration, ideally repairing things. In this way, when you launch the game, you will notice that your skill group is hidden, and you will need to win one match before having access to it. Likewise, many players will receive new rankings and can see where they land after winning a game.

Also, if this is the first time you are going to play a qualifier, the system will use the performance of normal games to determine the initial positioning. Some players have already discussed enormous changes in their ranks, going from Gold Nova (average level) all the way to Global Elite (the highest tier) in one match.

This decision will improve the quality of the games, especially in those levels where not so many players participate in the pairing. In this way, they will ensure that only the best individuals on each server are found.

    Valve Plays Unranked Mode

This new unranked mode in CS:GO will involve emulating the competitive experience using a type of matchmaking based on skill. It will not require skill groups and can be used in most CS:GO game modes, including Competitive, Wingman, and Danger Zone.

It is also worth noting that the first reactions to involving the unranked queue to CS:GO have been positive on most of the community since these decisions will mean more difficulties for cheaters to impact the game.

    Changes to Non Prime Accounts

In addition to the unranked mode, Valve has also announced changes to non-prime accounts. First of all, these types of accounts will no longer receive ranks, experience, drops, skill groups, or other information from prime accounts. On top of that, they will not be able to participate in qualifying games, activate objects that give them additional experience, or claim medals.

In this way, the qualifying games in CS:GO will take place, from now on, only between prime accounts. That said, unranked accounts will be a mixture of prime and non-prime accounts for those who have preferred to choose this new queue.
