The Indian Premier League started in 2008 when India Cements bought Chennai Super Kings for $91 Million. The team was led by the Thala(MS Dhoni) from the very beginning of the tournament’s first season. N Srinivasan was also a former chairman of the BCCI(Board of Cricket Control for India) and was chairman of the Chennai Super Kings. The Chennai made it to the finals of the first season, and even after it lost the finals in the last ball, it initiated the yellow wave of the yellow hurricane. And it has had exceptional performances in all the seasons it has been a part of. The team has made it to the playoffs in eleven seasons. The batters hit some of the best strokes with the bats from the best bat manufacturer in India.

    The team till now!

MS Dhoni was bought with the highest bid of about 9.5 crores, and he completely justified the money invested in him with the strategic mindset and gameplay in all the seasons. He made a special place for himself in the heart of the supporters of the Chennai Super Kings, and many became a follower and supporters of Chennai Super Kings because of the captain’s excellence. And with time, the supporters started calling him Thala or the supreme leader. He had fetched magnificent wins for the team with his calm and aggressive mindset and became the best batsman for the last overs in adding or chasing titles.

The team was banned from the tournament for two consecutive seasons, but it returned strong and, in 2018, won the title with a splendid performance even after the team was being teased and trolled with phrases such as ‘dad’s army. But then the team went through the worst season in 2020 when it could not even make it to the playoffs. But the lions again roared in 2021 and won the IPL title for the fourth time.

    The players

Some of the players have been an integral part of the franchise and retained for a long time. Dhoni has become the face of the franchise, and follows him is Suresh Raina, who is called the Mr. IPL and the army of the franchise calls him Chinna Thala. Ravindra Jadeja never switched teams once he was signed with the team, and then we have the great bowler Bravo who has had splendid bowling forms in most of the seasons.

    Wrapping the discussion!

But sadly, time is moving at its speed, and the teams now have to switch to the younger generations as the GOATs retire. But what we need to learn from them is the consistency they were able to maintain. They went through all the ups and downs and still did not shake. They faced all the criticism with praises. The budding players have a lot to learn from them as they practice, and they must always be ready for every situation they may face. When you need to become a part of the best batting squads in the nation, you must get the best Players Grade English Willow. You must get the equipment that allows the best situations to rock the field.
