The Academy of Motion Pictures has voted to officially ban Academy Award winner Will Smith from attending the Oscars ceremony for 10 years.
“I accept and respect the Academy’s decision,” Smith said in a statement to CNN.
This comes after the actor’s conduct during the 2022 event where he slapped comedian Chris Rock, following an in poor taste joke told at Jada Pinkett-Smith‘s expense.
Smith recently resigned his position as a member of the Academy.
