It isn’t often that a remake catches our attention. In this case, more a reimagining of a classic- Robert Louis Stephenson‘s “The Strange Case of Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde.” According to a report from earlier today, Eddie Izzard will play Doctor Nina Jeckyll in Joe Stephenson‘s upcoming film.

“I am very excited to be playing the role of Nina Jekyll in this new feature film and it’s wonderful to be able to reimagine this classic story in a modern way,” Izzard said of the news.
Dr. Jekyll will apparently find friendship with her assistant Rob (Scott Chambers). The pair will “work together to prevent Hyde from destroying her life.”
Stephenson said of Izzard starring:
“I’m thrilled that Eddie is joining us as my Nina Jekyll. With her being the extraordinary and versatile actress she is, playing against Scott’s natural talent to make us believe in the good in people, I can’t wait to bring this suspenseful take on the iconic classic to life.”
Principal photography is expected to start later this week in the UK, so says Variety. We’ll let you know what else we hear about this and other news.
