The hype train for Steven Spielberg’s upcoming film Disclosure Day is full speed ahead. Slated to hit theaters on June 12th, the movie got its last official trailer yesterday, giving us a peek at some aliens. It also made the bold choice of featuring the director prominently throughout the slightly under-3-minute ad.

An announcement for an official stag popcorn bucket from Regal Cinemas was made soon after.

    Trailer

The plot for Disclosure Day has been kept tightly under wraps, with only the following vague synopsis available. “If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to Disclosure Day.”

The new trailer gives us some ideas. It appears that Daniel (Josh O’Connor) has some classified information about extraterrestrials. Information that shadowy officials would literally kill to get back. At one point, we see him contacted by Margaret (Emily Blunt), seemingly a stranger, telling Daniel that they will kill him and to not go back to the house. Of course, he goes back to the house, and a car chase ensues.

Other footage shows that they were subjected to experiments by aliens as children. Creating an unknown traumatic link between the two. The trailer closes with a large-headed grey alien standing over a terrified Margaret, seemingly controlling her mind.

“I am much more inclined now than I was when I made Close Encounters. To really believe that we’re not the only intelligent civilization in the universe,” Spielberg says in the opening of the trailer. “This is a story about us, all of us, up against the most extraordinary event in human history.”

    Stag Popcorn Bucket

Featured prominently in the film’s marketing has been a rather majestic stag. A few hours after the trailer’s launch, Regal Cinemas announced an exclusive online-only popcorn bucket. This stag popcorn bucket will be limited to only one production run.

“Available only online in this special pre-order and not in theaters, the Disclosure Day Stag Popcorn Bucket channels the suspense, paranoia, and alien intrigue of Steven Spielberg’s epic UFO thriller into one unforgettable collectible,” the listing reads. “Featuring a striking stag-inspired creature design, this popcorn bucket is essential merch for sci-fi fans and blockbuster collectors alike! Customers may purchase a maximum of three units of this limited collectible.”

The official Disclosure Day popcorn bucket is now available for pre-order online only from the Regal Store. But, delivery isn’t expected to begin until October 28, 2026, long after the film’s June 12th release date. So if you wanted to have this in theaters while you watched the movie, you’re out of luck.
