Call of Duty Endowment Honors Veterans This Military Appreciation Month with USAA

To celebrate Military Appreciation Month this May, the Call of Duty Endowment is doing something special. USAA sponsors it. This year, the campaign focuses on the launch of the C.O.D.E. Navigator: Tracer Pack. It is inspired by and designed with CAPT Chris Cassidy (USN, ret.). He is a former U.S. Navy SEAL and NASA astronaut.

The pack pays homage to Cassidy’s career in the military, from the sea to space. It’s an actually cool idea! When you tie real, veteran stories to cosmetic content, it all suddenly feels less cosmetic. This is a really cool way to incorporate veterans into an already loved game.

“The event will be incredibly fun to watch, but we never lose sight of our important mission of placing the 61% of Veterans who identify as being either unemployed or underemployed into meaningful careers.”

Dan Goldenberg, Executive Director of the Call of Duty Endowment said in December 2022

The Endowment is proud to announce that it has placed 169,000 veterans in high-quality jobs and counting. To celebrate, the Endowment is partnering with USAA to continue supporting those who serve. That number continues to go up. And it matters.

    In game rewards

From May 8 through May 21, players can earn in-game rewards across Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 (including Zombies) and Call of Duty: Warzone while helping veterans find their way to the next chapter of their story. The event is called the C.O.D.E. Navigator Challenge. It aims to get the rest of the player base involved.

One hundred percent of Activision’s net earnings for this special item is going to be donated to the Call of Duty Endowment. That bears repeating. If you buy the pack you aren’t just getting some cosmetic content, you are directly funding veteran employment programs.

    Partnered with the USAA

The Call of Duty Endowment has once again partnered with USAA to provide a free pack. This is the C.O.D.E. Navigator: Tracer Pack. It is for U.S. military service members and veterans. It is for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone. An ID.me account is necessary to receive the pack.

The Endowment has also teamed up with Lyft to transport veterans in their personal journeys. The service now allows riders to round up their fare inside the Lyft app to donate directly to the cause.

Additionally, the Endowment is also supporting the British Army vs. Royal Navy Rugby match at Twickenham Stadium for the fifth consecutive year. The support here isn’t just national. It’s a detail most coverage about the program’s recurring efforts tends to miss entirely.

Genuinely, this is one of the better recurring gaming charity programs that exists. The numbers support it, the real stories behind the Endowment’s efforts have made their way into actual gameplay and keep it grounded. It doesn’t feel like a brand checkbox. It feels like a community that actually shows up year after year, and that consistency is worth something.
