Hey everybody, have you heard the news? Joe Bob is leaving town (kinda).
Horror host and drive-in movie expert Joe Bob Briggs has announced that tonight will be the series finale of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs. However, he hasn’t bowed out fully just yet.

Shudder, the show’s streaming home, has confirmed that there will be 4 all-new specials this year. So basically, the show is reverting to the format it launched with in 2018. The reaction to that marathon and the return of the MonsterVision host caused Shudder to produce 2 more specials until they just made it a full-blown series in 2019.
The Last Drive-In Specials
These 4 new specials will debut each quarter, starting with Joe Bob’s Wicked Witchy Wingding, premiering live on Friday, April 24 at 9 P.M. (ET). Witchy Wingding will be part of Shudder’s larger Halfway to Halloween celebration. It promises an occult double feature with Briggs and Darcy The Mail Girl (Diana Prince).
“Joe Bob Briggs has been a Shudder staple since 2018, when his original 13-movie marathon ‘broke the internet,’” said Courtney Thomasma, EVP, Linear and Streaming Products. “Since then, he and Darcy the Mail Girl have continued to delight Shudder fans with double features and seasonal specials tailored to horror buffs and cinephiles alike, always offering plenty of surprises. We look forward to sharing these four new specials with Drive-In Mutants everywhere.”
The series finale of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs will air on Shudder and AMC+ tonight (Friday) at 9 P.M. (ET). It will be released on demand on Sunday, March 8th.
