While Conformity Gate was a complete hoax, there *is* more “Stranger Things” on the way. Earlier today, Netflix released the first teaser trailer for the animated spinoff “Stranger Things: Tales From ’85.”

“Tales From ’85” is set in the winter of 1985, and the kids think that the horrors of the Upside Down will melt away with the freshly fallen snow. Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max try to settle back into a normal life of D&D and snowball fights. That is until something horrifying gets awakened.

Is it from the Upside Down? The Hawkins Lab? Or some entirely new hell for them to square off against? They must race to solve the mystery and save their beloved town.

“Tales From ’85” Cast and Crew

The spin off is created by Duffer Brothers Matt and Ross, executive producer Shawn Levy, and showrunner Eric Robles. However, an all new cast will voice the original “Stranger Things” characters.

Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Luca Diaz as Mike, Elisha “EJ” Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Ben Plessala as Will, Brett Gipson as Hopper, and Jeremy Jordan as Steve. Odessa A’zion, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips round out the voice cast.

“You’re not getting a watered-down continuation of the show you’ve watched and loved,”  Levy teased about “Tales From ’85.” “You’re getting a different tone, a different visual style. It’s filling in blanks of mythology and timeline that you’ve never gotten in what we call ‘the mothership,’ the original show. The Duffers loved a certain style of ‘80s and ‘90s all-family audience animation and cartoons, and this show is made in the spirit of that. So it’s not ‘Stranger Things, but animated,’ it’s very much its own tone and style.”

“The idea was kind of to evoke a feeling of an ’80s cartoon,” Matt Duffer said in the announcement.

“What we’ve been able to capture is the magic of Hawkins in a new way,” Robles adds.

“Stranger Things: Tales From ’85” hits Netflix on April 23rd. You can check out the first teaser trailer below:
