FOX’s “Baywatch” Reboot Hosting Open Casting Call

Are you someone who stands in the darkness, afraid to jump into the light? Or are you someone who needs to help somebody when the edge of surrender’s in sight? If you’re the latter of these two and recognize the lyrical reference that was just made, then perhaps you may be interested in heading to an open casting call for “Baywatch” this February!

“Baywatch Open Casting Call is seeking dynamic talent across a wide range of roles, from lifeguards and beachgoers to bartenders, buddies and love interests to rescuers and rescuees of all kinds, as well as additional characters yet to be written,” Fox Entertainment and production company Fremantle said in a statement.

Anyone over the age of 18 is encouraged to attend, and the call is open to people of any gender or ethnicity. The FAQ even covers what you should wear.

Wardrobe: Attire should be suitable for a beach setting: Come “‘Baywatch‘ Ready.”

Michael Thorn, the President of Fox Television Network, is echoing the idea that the search for new talent is part of this production. “We’re excited to discover fresh faces with authentic SoCal energy as we bring back Baywatch for a new generation of fans,” he said. The original series did wonders for some up and coming names; but there’s still the question over whether or not anyone even wants to watch a new take on “Baywatch.” But then again, if NBC thinks a new version of “The Rockford Files” is worth ordering a pilot for, who knows what could work?

The casting call for “Baywatch” will take place on February 18 at the Marina Del Rey Marriott in Marina del Rey, CA. The registration deadline to participate is on February 17th.
