Dive into Hell(averse) with “Hazbin Hotel” Songwriter Sam Haft [Interview]

We unleash hell with “Hazbin Hotel” and “Helluva Boss” songwriter Sam Haft who dives (chaotically) deep into putting together season 2 AND hints at what we might be able to expect from season 3 and 4.

Haft is a Platinum certified songwriter who is also one half of the band The Living Tombstone (along with Yoav Landau). He works on both of Vivienne “VivziePop” Medrano’s series and in season two of the brilliant animated show (along with Andrew Underberg) brought us songs like “Gravity” and “Piss (A Love Song).”

In this off the rails discussion we also chat about The Muppets, temporarily going blind, and a bevy of trivia and personal lore drops (Hellaverse Wiki editors – this one’s for you).

More About “Hazbin Hotel” Season 2

Following Charlie’s victory against Heaven’s army, the hotel is booming with new residents. Though, to her dismay, many are not there for the right reasons. As resentment against Heaven brews and sinners realize they can fight back, there are plenty of sinners looking to capitalise on the growing tensions: namely the overlord trio known as ‘The Vees.’

Whilst Charlie struggles to maintain the hotel’s goals and protect her public image, the Vees (led by Vox) make a plan to take over Heaven placing themselves at the top. Meanwhile, in Heaven, the angels must deal with the repercussions of Sir Pentious’s redemption and their own part in the previous atrocities committed against Hell.
