One of our favorite YouTube channels to watch ad nauseam has to be the Mythic Kitchen. We’re not just saying that, either. Josh Scherer, host and chef from the channel, has really come into his own the last year or so. Life changes, becoming more comfortable with himself- the usual- have brought the Last Meals episodes into the upper echelon of interview segments.
Which brings us to last week’s episode, with Critical Role‘s own Matthew Mercer. Sort of the epitome of the nerdy everyman, Mercer and his collection of professional game players have brought Dungeons & Dragons into a more socially acceptable pass time. Once the bane of highschool ridicule, D & D has finally taken it’s righteous place as the cultural phenomenon it really is.
One of the most recent episodes of MK’s “Last Meals” features Matt and Josh, talking about the various ups and downs of life, as well as a tremendously craveable meal we are going to seek out ourselves in the new year.
We especially love the sequence where Scherer surprises Mercer with a video from one of the teachers who supported and encouraged Mercer. We all had that one adult, right?
