We are so excited to share the first released trailer for Sir Christopher Nolan‘s upcoming epic, “The Odyssey.” Yes, a 5-minute clip has been running before IMAX showings of “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” but like all other Nolan theatrically released clips and trailers, that one will more than likely not be released to the public.

Written around the 8th century BC, Homer’s “The Odyssey” is a timeless work of Greek literature. It centers around Odysseus (Matt Damon), king of Ithaca, as he embarks on a 10-year voyage home after the Trojan War. Along the way, he encounters several tests of his moral endurance, including multiple mythical beings like Sirens and Cyclopes.

The film also stars Anne Hathaway (“Interstellar”) as Odysseus’s wife Penelope, who’s been holding off potential suitors for her hand. Tom Holland (“Spider-Man“) plays their son Telemachus, who, in the original tale, leaves Ithaca to find his father. Himesh Patel (“Greedy People“) stars as Eurylochus, alongside Robert Pattinson (“Mickey 17“) as Antinous, Zendaya (“Dune“), Lupita Nyong’o (“The WIld Robot“), Elliot Page (“Close to You“), Charlize Theron (“Mad Max: Fury Road,“ “Atomic Blonde“), Jon Bernthal (“The Bear“), Benny Safdie (“Oppenheimer“), John Leguizamo (“Zootopia 2“), Bill Irwin (“High Tide“), Samantha Morton (“The Serpent Queen“), Jesse Garcia (“Hour of Blood“), and Will Yun Lee (“The Good Doctor“).
“The Odyssey” will hit theaters July 17th, 2026. Check out the trailer now:
