We have some good news from DreamWorks Animation and Universal’s “Shrek 5.” Marcello Hernández (“Saturday Night Live”) and Skyler Gisondo (“Superman”) have joined the voice cast as Shrek and Fiona’s sons, Fergus and Farkle aka the Brogers. They’ll be joining the ogre’s brood alongside Zendaya, who plays their sister, Felicia.

Franchise mainstays Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz will all be returning as Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona, respectively.

“Shrek 5” is co-directed by Conrad Vernon and Walt Dohrn. Vernon directed “Shrek 2” and voices the Gingerbread Man. Dohrn wrote and did art for the 2nd and 3rd installments, gaining the position of Head of Story on the 4th film. He also voiced Rumpelstiltskin in “Shrek Forever After.” Brad Ableson (“Minions: The Rise of Gru”) will be co-directing with the series staple duo.

The plot is still under wraps at this time. We’ll keep you posted on updates about the film as it develops.

“Shrek 5” is slated to hit theaters on June 30, 2027.
