Seems like Legendary is in its Noah Centineo (“Warfare”) era. The actor is already shooting “Street Fighter” for the company, and now he is in talks to star in its upcoming “Gundam“ movie. The film would have him co-starring with Sydney Sweeney (“Immaculate”) in a live-action adaptation of the popular anime franchise.
This currently untitled “Gundam” movie will be written and directed by Jim Mickle (“Sweet Tooth”).

The overall franchise started in 1979, and it features giant robots, or mecha, known as Gundam. Set in the Universal Century, where people have emigrated to space colonies because of overpopulation on Earth. Those in space eventually launch a war against those on Earth. However, battles are now fought by piloting these larger-than-life robots.
If Centineo does sign on, it’s assumed he’ll play the romantic lead to Sweeney’s character. The plot will most likely center around two people on opposite sides of the war finding each other.
We’ll keep you posted on updates about the “Gundam“ movie as the project develops.
