On November 6th, the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Michael Jackson biopic, “Michael,” was released. Much like the king of pop, this teaser immediately started smashing records. In its first 24 hours online, it racked up 116.2 million views worldwide.
Making it the most viewed trailer for any music biopic or concert movie in history. Beating out the former title holder, “Taylor Swift: Eras Tour,” which pulled in 96.1 million views in 24 hours.

From the trailer, it seems that “Michael” will center mostly around the performer’s rise to fame. Jackson will be portrayed by his nephew, Jaafar Jackson, and is seen in the teaser recreating several iconic moments in the singer’s life, like the video for “Thriller.”
Jaafar will star alongside Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, Coleman Domingo as Joe Jackson, and Miles Teller as John Branca. The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua from a script by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan.
“Michael” hits theaters nationwide on April 24th, 2026. You can check out the record-breaking teaser below:
