The Asylum is a studio known for turning out mockbusters at breakneck speed. Sometimes, even releasing their version before the movie they are knocking off. Such is the case with the company’s newest film, “Predator: Wastelands,” releasing just a few days before 20th Century Studios’ “Predator: Badlands.”

Asylum’s “Predator: Wastelands” centers on an alien hunter who arrives on Earth. In doing so, he defeats a gang of warlords, making him a surprise folk hero to the disenfranchised locals. Now, he is teaming up with them to beat the warlords’ ruthless leader.
This new film is directed by Ryan Ebert, who was behind “The Jolly Monkey,” a mockbuster of Osgood Perkins’ “The Monkey.” The film stars David Chokachi, Johnny Ramey, and Vanessa Zanardi.
“Predator: Wastelands” is currently streaming on Apple TV and Hoopla. You can check out the trailer below. Dan Trachtenberg’s “Predator: Badlands” hits theaters nationwide November 7th:
