10 years after the first film hit theaters, Lionsgate is making a sequel to “The Last Witch Hunter“! The even more exciting news is that Vin Diesel will reprise his role as Kaulder. His co-star, Sir Michael Caine, may return as Dolan, but that deal hasn’t been finalized yet. Caine previously retired from acting in 2023.
Diesel’s production company, One Race Films, will be backing the film alongside Lionsgate.

“The Last Witch Hunter” centers around Kaulder, an immortal witch hunter, and humanity’s last hope against the most horrifying spellcasters in history. It performed well, grossing $130 million at the worldwide box office. Now the film has become one of Netflix’s top five most-watched movies.
Given its apparent staying power, the time was right for a follow-up.
“The Last Witch Hunter has grown since its theatrical release into a global fan favorite, with audiences continuing to discover and re-watch it across every platform over the past decade. That enduring enthusiasm made clear there is an appetite for more stories set in this world,” Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group, said. “Vin and I have partnered many times over the years, and he is a true force in our industry. I’m thrilled to be reuniting with him as he returns to this iconic role, and excited by how advancements in filmmaking technology now allow us to economically deliver a sequel on an even more ambitious scale.”
We’ll keep you posted on updates about “The Last Witch Hunter” sequel as the project develops. The first film is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime, Peacock, and Plex.
