It’s been almost thirteen years since “Silent Hill” was on the silver screen. Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting just released the first trailer for the franchise’s third live-action film, “Return to Silent Hill.” Like the previous entries, this will be based on Konami’s beloved horror video game franchise of the same name.

The new 41-second-long trailer mostly showcases James Sunderland (Jeremy Irvine) as he enters the town of Silent Hill. We also see series staple Mary Crane (Hannah Emily Anderson) before a montage of dark corridors and a burning building. All while the characters desperately try to escape the killer, Pyramid Head.
“Return to Silent Hill” is directed by Christopher Gans, who helmed the first film adaptation in 2006. The 2012 sequel, “Silent Hill: Revelation,” was directed by M. J. Bassett.
Gans also co-wrote the script for “Return” with Sandra Vo-Anh and William Josef Schneider.
According to Cineverse, this movie will be “a faithful adaptation of the video game ‘Silent Hill 2.’” That game was released in 2001, with a remake in 2024.
“Return to Silent Hill” is currently slated for theatrical release sometime in January. We’ll keep you posted on updates about the project as it develops. In the meantime, you can check out the brand new trailer below:
