In 2016, Ruth Ware published the thriller novel “The Woman in Cabin 10.” Now Netflix is adapting the story into a movie starring Keira Knightley as Lo Blacklock, a woman being gaslit into believing she didn’t see what she most certainly did see.
“I am not imagining this,” Lo pleads in the brand-new trailer for “The Woman in Cabin 10.”

The film and novel center around Lo, a journalist assigned to cover the story of a luxury superyacht’s first voyage. It’s all smooth sailing until Lo sees a woman fall to her death, but for some reason, no one believes her. This doubt even includes the superyacht’s filthy rich owner Richard Bullmer (Guy Pearce). However, she is determined to find out what really happened to the woman in cabin 10.
Despite the attempts to convince Lo that she didn’t see a woman fall to her death, writer and director Simon Stone isn’t repeating the same old tropes. “You never question whether or not she saw what she saw,” Stone tells Netflix. “You agree completely with her. It’s her struggle against the conspiracy.”
Knightley and Pearce star alongside Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Hannah Waddingham, and David Ajala. Which Stone describes as “an incredibly stacked cast. Keira has led in an extraordinary way, and Guy as well. But the entire ensemble has been amazing.”
“The Woman in Cabin 10” hits Netflix on October 10th. You can check out the first trailer below:
