Do you like busting a move even if you aren’t a particularly good dancer? Well, you’re among friends here and at Brooklyn Cyclones games! During their match on August 2nd the stadium had a “Seinfeld” night in honor of the 1990’s show about nothing. They also held an Elaine Dance Contest to see who could imitate Elaine Benes’ (Julia Louis-Dreyfus)…unique style of shaking a leg.
On the show it is a running joke that Elaine cannot dance but does so anyway. As her friend, George Costanza (Jason Alexander), explains it’s “a full-body dry heave set to music.” Her particular set of moves soon became a cultural punchline and party trick for anyone in their teens and twenties.
The winner, Olivia, not only pulled off the dance but did an impressive job dressing up as the character too. You can check out the hilarious footage of the contest and her acceptance speech below:
