We are over halfway through 2025, and the popcorn bucket wars rage on. The latest fighter is a Cinemark-exclusive for Macon Blair‘s (“Room 104”) reboot of “The Toxic Avenger.” We aren’t sure if you can win by knocking out all your opponents with radiation poisoning, but we’re going to find out real soon.

These buckets are shaped like a rusted vat of toxic waste with the film’s title on the side. The neon green toxic sludge spilling over the sides helps set off the subtle reds in the rust tones. Once you finish your radioactive popcorn, you’ll find the Toxic Avenger logo on the bottom.

“The Toxic Avenger” will be a remake of the 1984 film of the same name, co-directed by Troma Entertainment co-founders Michael Herz and Lloyd Kaufman. It tells the story of Melvin, a bullied janitor at the Tromaville health spa, who falls into a vat of toxic waste after being pranked. Instead of killing him, the waste transforms him into the mutated superhero, The Toxic Avenger. Toxie quickly became a mascot for Troma Studios, creating a franchise of films, cartoons, toys, and comics.

While this isn’t the most uniquely shaped popcorn bucket we’ve seen. It does have some serious post-snack storage potential with its biohazard lid. Kaufman also left a positive comment on Cinemark’s popcorn bucket announcement, making this the first Troma-approved entry.

“The Toxic Avenger” stars Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones”) as downtrodden janitor Winston Gooze. He stars alongside Kevin Bacon (“Tremors”), Elijah Wood (“Yellowjackets”), Jacob Tremblay (“Room”), Julia Davis (“Person of Interest”), and Taylour Paige (“Zola”).

“The Toxic Avenger” premiered at Fantastic Fest in 2023, and will FINALLY hit theaters on August 29th. You can check out the latest uncensored trailer and cool new popcorn bucket below:
