Every year a new batch of entertainers is honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In June, The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced horror icon John Carpenter (“Halloween”) will be among the inductees. It has been confirmed that the legendary filmmaker’s ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 11:30 AM (PT).
This will make Carpenter the 2,806th star to be added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to pay tribute to director John Carpenter with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” Hollywood Walk of Fame Producer Ana Martinez said. “He has forever shaped the horror genre and has created lasting cinematic masterpieces. It is an honor to dedicate a star to such a talented and influential director.”
Carpenter has been directing since 1962, with his career kicking into overdrive in the early 1970s. In 1974, he made the cult sci-fi film “Dark Star” and the 1976 hit action film “Assault on Precinct 13.” Which led into the ground-breaking horror film “Halloween,” unleashing Michael Myers onto the world the following year. His repertoire also includes other iconic action and horror films like “The Fog,” “Escape From New York” and its follow-up “Escape from L.A.,” “The Thing,” “They Live,” “Big Trouble in Little China,” and so many more.
Not to mention all of his writing and composing credits over the past several decades. Our point is this honor was a long time coming.
For those who cannot attend the April 3rd ceremony in front of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel (7000 Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90028), it will be live cast here.
