Director Joseph Kosinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer, the duo behind “Top Gun: Maverick” and the upcoming Brad Pitt racing film “F1,” are teaming up again. The pair is leaving behind airplanes and race cars for more adult pursuits- aliens. Their currently untitled film will be a UFO conspiracy thriller that’s already sparked a studio feeding frenzy in Hollywood.
It’s reported that Amazon, Apple, Lionsgate, Paramount, and Warner Bros. are all involved in a “quickly and aggressively” escalating bidding for the film.

As it stands, the pitch would have Kosinski returning to the director’s chair with Bruckheimer producing. Because why fix what box office numbers indicate isn’t broken? The script is being written by Zach Baylin (“The Order,” “King Richard”).
There are also rumblings that David Grusch, a former US Air Force officer turned UFO whistleblower, is acting as a consultant. While it’s far from unheard of for former/current members of the military to consult on films. (In some instances it’s even required). Grusch testified before Congress in 2023 that the US government has been studying alien bodies and spacecraft. Which lends this project a serious air of authenticity.
Aside from this core group being attached, little else is known about the project. Aside from it is being pitched as “All The President’s Men with UFOs.”
We’ll keep you posted on details about this film as it develops. In the meantime, Kosinski’s movie “F1” hits theaters on June 27, 2025. You can check out the trailer below:
