    “Final Destination: Bloodlines” Gets 2 Ominus Teasers

    Since 2000, the “Final Destination” franchise has been giving us bizarre death scene after bizarre death scene. Recently, we got two teasers for the upcoming 6th installment, “Final Destination: Bloodlines.” The first teaser hit February 2nd, and is just a 10-second clip of a ceiling fan slowly spinning with chains clanging in the background.

    Why a fan?

    This shot is a deep-cut callback to the pitch co-directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein (“Freaks”) made to New Line Cinema. The duo made their pitch over a Zoom call when their fireplace suddenly burst into uncontrolled flames. While they were fighting back the blaze a ceiling fan fell, decapitating one of them. 

    Lipovsky and Stein had pre-recorded their end of the call with a series of horrific mishaps edited in. Giving executives a practical demonstration of their vision.

    The second teaser is significantly longer clocking in at 2 minutes and 16 seconds. We see a young woman getting her tongue pierced at a tattoo parlor. Soon after she leaves the piercer begins to close up and that’s when things start to go bad. He spills a flammable fluid all over the floor right before a chain suspended from, you guessed it, a ceiling fan gets caught on his septum ring. He tries to free himself from the chain as it gets shorter and shorter due to the spinning fan blades. Eventually, he ends up hanging by it over the shop’s floor which is now ablaze. That is until the ceiling fan gives out and he falls to the floor only to catch on fire.

    Guy Busick (“Abigail”) and Lori Evans Taylor (“Cellar Door”) wrote the screenplay for “Bloodlines” from a story by Jon Watts (“Wolfs”) based on characters by Jeffrey Reddick (“Don’t Look Back”). The plot is still unknown at this time. 

    “Bloodlines” stars Brec Bassinger (“The Man in The White Van”), Teo Briones (“Chucky”), Richard Harmon (“Lowlifes”), Max Lloyd Jones (“Woman of The Hour”), and Owen Patrick Joyner (“Knight Squad”). Along with Kaitlyn Santa Juana (“The Friendship Game”), Rya Kihlstedt (“Star Wars: Tales of The Empire”), Tinpo Lee (“Kung Fu”), Anna Lore (“Hysteria!”), April Amber Telek (“Spread”), and Alex Zahara (“Homeworld 3”).

    This film will be the first entry into the franchise since 2011’s “Final Destination 5.” 

    “Final Destination: Bloodlines,” is set to release on May 16th, almost 25 years after the first film hit theaters. We’ll keep you posted on updates about this project as they become available. You can check out the official teaser trailers below:
