    A24’s “Death of a Unicorn” Starring Paul Rudd, Jenna Ortega Gets First Trailer

    Since ancient Greece, people have been obsessed with unicorns. A24 Films is going to kill one in the aptly titled, “Death of a Unicorn.” The upcoming dark comedy will star Paul Rudd (“Ant-Man”) and Jenna Ortega (“Wednesday”).

    The film follows a father (Rudd) and daughter (Ortega) who accidentally hit a unicorn with their car. To complicate matters even more, it happens on the way to a weekend retreat with the patriarch’s billionaire boss, Dell Leopold. After realizing what they have done they stash the (not so) mythical creature in their SUV in hopes they can deal with it later.

    Once they arrive the car begins to shake and make noises until they are forced to reveal the dead unicorn to the Leopolds. Like any true capitalist, they immediately try to find ways to exploit the discovery. In harvesting the corpse of its magic, they inadvertently find the cure for cancer, leading them to believe it’s a possible ticket to “immortality.” 

    That is until they find out the unicorn isn’t dead in the traditional sense…

    “Death of a Unicorn” also stars Richard E. Grant, Will Poulter, Téa Leoni, Anthony Carrigan (“Superman“), and Sunita Mani. It is the directorial debut of Alex Scharfman, who also wrote the script. It is produced by A24 mainstay Ari Aster, with a soundtrack composed by horror icon John Carpenter.

    “Death of a Unicorn” is expected to be released sometime in 2025. We’ll keep you posted on updates about the film as they become available. In the meantime, you can check out the bizarrely comedic trailer below:
