Disney started its two-day content showcase in Singapore, and has already dropped one huge announcement. The House of Mouse and Lucasfilm have confirmed “Star Wars: Visions” is returning for a third season!

Season 3 will have 9 new animated shorts from returning Japanese anime studios Kamikaze Douga+ ANIMA, Kinema Citrus, Production I.G, TRIGGER. David Production, Polygon Pictures, Project Studio Q, and WIT Studio will provide some new blood for the upcoming season.

    “Star Wars: Visions”

“Star Wars: Visions” debuted in 2021 and is an anthology series made up of non-canon animated shorts. Each short is created by a different animation studio, giving the series a wide range of styles. Allowing this kind of creative freedom back into the “Star Wars” universe has led to some wildly imaginative takes on it. Quickly making the show a hit among fans and critics alike.

Its first season included work from Japanese animation studios Kamikaze Douga, Studio Colorido, Geno Studio, Trigger, Kinema Citrus, Production I.G., and Science Saru.

The second season premiered in 2023, and widened its scope to include international studios. With animations done by Aardman (U.K.), El Guiri (Spain), Cartoon Saloon (Ireland), Punkrobot (Chile), Studio Mir (South Korea), Studio La Cachette (France), 88 Pictures (India), D’art Shtajio (Japan), Lucasfilm (U.S.), and Triggerfish (South Africa/Ireland).

“Star Wars: Visions” season 3 is slated to debut in 2025. The show’s first two seasons are currently streaming on Disney+.
